Anyone know a good shampoo for hair-wax?

the waxes i use are brylcream and dax wax, and they tend to linger in my hair for days, regardless of me washing my hair thoroughly, and its really annoying, help please!Anyone know a good shampoo for hair-wax?
Brylcreem is oil based and so when you add water to your hair in order to shampoo it, the oil is effectively emulsifying - oil and water don't go together and they make it harder for the soap to penetrate and clean efficiently.

The best way to counter this is to pour your shampoo onto your hands and then apply to your dry hair, i.e. before you wet it under the shower, rub it in for a moment to break down surface oils and then add water to work up a deeper cleansing lather.

You should find that this method of cleaning does a better job at removing the waxy residue. I use it myself as I apply sweet almond oil to my dry hair, leave for an hour and shampoo as above on a weekly basis and it does the trick.

Presuming you are in the UK, you could also try the following, they aim to remove build up caused by styling products

You'll need to use a clarifying shampoo every few days like the one from Head and Shoulders, Pantene, Matrix etc. If you use it daily your hair will get dry.
